February 18 – March 7 Charles Schulz's beloved characters come to life on stage in ‘You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown.' The play has all the favorite characters from the cartoons like Charlie Brown, Lucy, Snoopy, and Linus. This play is showing alternately with ‘Dog Sees God.' February 20 The Parks and Recreation Department is offering a Parents Night Out. Leave your children at the Coral Gables Youth Center where they will enjoy a sleep-over party with special activities. Guests will be given snacks and breakfast the next morning. Drop off your child at 7 p.m. and pick them up no later than 9 a.m. the next morning. February 20 Spend an evening with your friends and family playing Bingo, while supporting the American Cancer Society at the Coral Gables War Memorial Youth Center. February 20 The Parks and Recreation Department and the City’s Youth Advisory Board invite the City’s teens to participate in Teen Night. Spend your Friday night with other teens from the community participating in a friendly competition of Dance Revolution Ultramix 4 vs. Guitar Hero World Tour. There will be a special performance by Miami Parkour. The fee is $3 and all proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. February 21 Spend Saturday mornings enjoying the Farmers Market. Start the day at 8 a.m. with a Tai Chi class at Merrick Park across from City Hall. Then participate in a culinary demonstration at 10 a.m. by Morton’s Restaurant. February 21 – March 22 GableStage presents a thrilling play depicting the collision of two Marine Corps officers on issues of race, women and the cost of doing the right thing. February 26 – March 29 The award winning play The Glass Menagerie will soon come to New Theatre. Tennessee Williams' most lyrical and powerful memory play about the Wingfield family is considered a masterpiece of American drama. In the play, Tom is torn between family obligation and his deep desire to escape his domineering mother, and frail sister. February 27 – March 1 Join in on the fun and experience the culture and foods of the Middle East by visiting the Coral Gables Middle Eastern Festival. Enjoy a block party, traditional foods, art, live music and shopping all taking place at the Cathedral of St. George, 320 Palermo Avenue. The festival is free and open to the public during the hours of 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. February 28 The Miami Bach Society starts its 10th Annual International Tropical Baroque Music Festival with the hilarious but touching performance from Fuoco e Cenere with Pulcinella and the Neapolitan Puppet Tradition. The performance combines original music inspired by Stravinsky’s celebrated ballet and the use of puppets. Don't miss the exciting event being held at the Teatro Area Stage/Riviera Theatre, 1560 South Dixie Highway, at 2 p.m. Ticket prices $25 - $40. March 3 The ensemble Zefiro makes its Florida debut during the Miami Bach Society's Tropical Baroque Music Festival. This unique ensemble, named after the tender and kind god of the western wind in Greek mythology, was founded in 1989 by the oboists Alfredo Bernardini and Paolo Grazzi, and the bassoonist Alberto Grazzi. March 4 Oltremontano, under the director of baroque trombonist Wim Becu, has been internationally recognized as one of the leading authentic brass ensembles for the last 15 years. Hear them perform live during the Miami Bach Society Tropical Baroque Music Festival. German wind bands have a tradition going back four centuries and this prominent Belgian ensemble performs the music on cornets and sackbuts as it would have been played around 1700. March 4 – April 5 Attend the regional premiere of the greatest musical ever written. Experience the dramatic masterpiece Les Misérables at Actors’ Playhouse at Miracle Theatre. The musical depicts the epic saga of social injustice and the triumph of the human spirit. Les Misérables recounts the struggle of the French people during the late 1800s.
