Coral Gables Museum Opens
Its First Major Exhibit

The dreams of many community leaders came true on Saturday, October 22 when the Coral Gables Museum opened its first major exhibit to the general public. Several members of the City Commission were present to give thanks to all of the founders and sponsors who have helped bring the dream of the Coral Gables Museum to life. “The Coral Gables Museum is an extraordinary addition to the cultural fabric of our community. We should all be proud that what began as an idea in 1995 is now a remarkable museum with thought-provoking exhibits about our city's history,” said Coral Gables Mayor Jim Cason. Former City Commissioner Chip Withers agreed. “This is the culmination of a lot of hard work by many individuals. The people that are coming after us will have an opportunity to look back at what Coral Gables was all about. This museum will preserve our rich history,” he said. The Coral Gables Museum is open to the public Tuesdays through Thursdays from noon to 6 p.m., Fridays from noon to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m., Sundays from noon until 5 p.m. and is closed on Mondays. Admission is free to members; for membership fee information, click here. Admission for non-members is $7 for adults; $5 for students and seniors; $3 for children ages 6-12; and is free for children under 6 years old. For a list of current exhibitions, click here.
